Our Memorial Day

Good food, fabulous friends down on their farm. Playing outside all day and grateful for our freedoms. Thank you God for the men and women who have fought and those that are protecting it now.

Anna played soccer for the first time this Spring – and loved it!  She has a knack for picking up athletic endeavors fairly easily, and is a dare devil to boot.  In fact, she scored a goal in her first game ever! 

She’s not the most aggressive little thing on the field (the coaches had to keep reminding her it is OK to take the ball away from other players and it is OK not to share), but she definitely began to get the hang of the game by the end of the season. 

Way to go soccer supa-star!

Hadleigh bug @ 10 months

The bug is full of life and love and kisses and babbles!  Hadleigh loves to giggle and observe life around her.         

She has mastered the power crawl and is quite the scootch-er; in fact, she’s so efficient, we’re not sure she is going to get up on the hands and knees crawl.  She pulls up to furniture and stands there with a very proud look on her face, often squealing with delight.  She gets man-handled by her brother and sister often, and is beginning to let them know when she doesn’t appreciate it.  Although, she takes a lot more than I ever would!

She likes to look at books (bestill my teaching mama heart!) and chew on them as well….she’s not a literary critic yet. :o)  She enjoys toys that jingle and rattle and likes to play “roll the ball”.  She’s figured out how to get up the first three steps of our stairs.

This month, Hadleigh also took her very first trip to Walt Disney World.  She met princesses and Pooh and soaked in every sight she could hold her eyes open for.

She got to spend Mother’s Day with her Mama, Mom-Mom, and Grandmom at Animal Kingdom; what a treat! 

Happy 10 months lovebug!

8 year old monkey

When I grow up I want to be:  a pilot.  (That’s been his answer since the boy could speak.)  AND I want to be a professional Lego builder.

My favorite foods are:  pasta, Chinese food, shrimp, spinach  (and his motto is:  “I’ll eat it!”)

My favorite subject in school is:  recess, reading and science experiments

My favorite things to do with my sister Anna are:  birdie nests, adventure clubs, science explorer club and playing Duplo Legos

My favorite things to do with my sister Hadleigh are:  peek-a-boo, “Look at the beebah!”, and make her laugh

You still love art projects, cooking, being creative and you are a voracious reader.  You love fiction and non-fiction and I call you our 8 year old encyclopedia.  You read it, you remember it.  It’s amazing.

You are an FABULOUS big brother to two little sisters.  You live for making them laugh and Anna is your best friend (most of the time).  You love to play outside with them and sledding with Hadleigh was a highlight of your winter.

You are trying your “hand” at baseball this spring and enjoying the opportunity; even though at first you were very nervous.  You are hard on yourself when you feel as if you don’t do as well as you want, and we are working through those feelings together.

You are still a cuddler (God, please let him love to do this for a looonnnggg time).  We love your kisses, hugs and the way you hold our hands when we least expect it.

You finally got your 2 front teeth this year – in January – and you like to show them off.  You’ve had to relearn how to eat sandwiches and other items; how different you look with those teeth in the front – you look so big!

What we love most about you is your heart that is sensitive to the Lord.  You love reading your Bible in the morning (on your own accord) and ask phenomenal questions.  You have a heart that is passionate for helping hurting people and your prayers are genuine. 

We are excited to see the man that God is shaping you to be.  We love  you Bubba.
