Klaussen-like dills!

First canning batch of the summer is done...6 pints of dill pickles from the garden. And a lot more to come, from the looks of the vine. I'll let ya know if these taste as good as the store bought ones...and share the recipe if they do!

Camp Staffaroni 2012

IMG_1084

Our crew soooo looks forward to Camp Staffaroni every year….seriously. My kids start asking in the spring – they love Aunt Kimmie, Papa James, Mariana, Autumn and Kamela.

IMG_1151It is an bit ironic as they have all girls and Hudson has a blast – and here at home, a ton of our friends seem to have almost all boys. They are all the same age – literally…8, 2 @ 7, 2 @4 – and they play so well together.

This year we managed willingly squeezed in as much fun as we could in a short 2 days and 2 nights because the time frame before #3’s arrival. We have so many super pictures from the experience – and more memories. I think the easiest thing to do is to commentate on the images…

At Turtle Beach, we swam in the cool Delaware River and played on the “beach”.   The kids thought there would be sand, but it was a beautiful, ooey, gooey mud and was perfect for mud castles and mud pies.  We were the only ones on the beach for a long time – it was like stepping back in time!

After a ton of fun at the beach, we rested and took in a showing of “Brave” at a local theater….only to be topped off by Papa James’ most delicious crab and scallop pasta.  He and Aunt Kimmie had gone crabbing at home in CT before coming to camp and shared the yumminess with us….my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Post dinner each night we had devotions and singing together (Daddy brought his guitar) and on Friday night we played “the bag game”.  The kids had to ask yes/no questions to figure out what was in the bag – and then Mariana, the champion, very kindly shared her large loot bag of sour gummy worms with the others.

Week 38–Who are you?

IMG_1164-002

Who are you?

The names have been picked out and we are anxious to meet this little person!  Mommy delegated the final decision to Daddy and his mind is made up – so there is no need to try to sway his opinion.  But we do know that whoever God has blessed us with will be the perfect little one for our family…and we can’t wait!
